The prestigious British publication highlights in its latest edition the great wines of Spain that must be tried at least once in a lifetime, with Imperial Gran Reserva leading the selection.<\/em><\/p>\n

The February issue of Decanter<\/em> magazine features Spain\u2019s iconic wines on its cover, under the title “Icons of Spain, 10 wines to try before you die.”<\/em> The article, written by Ines Salpico, the publication\u2019s regional editor for Spain, reflects on what it means to be an iconic wine and what attributes make the chosen ones worthy of this distinction. The author emphasizes the combination of winemaking excellence, expert viticulture, privileged terroirs, and historical significance as essential elements, along with the ability to transcend trends without losing identity while evolving over time.<\/p>\n

\"\"In her selection of Spain\u2019s ten great wines, Imperial Gran Reserva<\/em> holds a prominent place. With its inaugural vintage in 1917, it became the first wine produced in Rioja with excellence as its guiding principle. According to Salpico, it represents a “modern classic Rioja” with over a century of history and, at the same time, a promising future.<\/p>\n

The Decanter<\/em> selection also includes other iconic names from regions as Ribera del Duero, Priorat or Gredos, as well as great Riojas with which Imperial Gran Reserva<\/em> shares space in the historic Barrio de la Estaci\u00f3n<\/em> in Haro, such as Prado Enea<\/em> by Muga and Gran Reserva 890<\/em> by La Rioja Alta, S.A.<\/p>\n
