Compa\u00f1\u00eda Vin\u00edcola del Norte de Espa\u00f1a (CVNE) presents its 2024 Sustainability Report<\/strong>, a document that highlights the group\u2019s progress and commitments towards a respectful, responsible, and innovative model of viticulture.<\/p>\n

The report consolidates more than a century of history under a clear vision: to grow sustainably and generate a positive impact on the environment, the planet, and the communities where CVNE operates.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Among the milestones achieved this year is the renewal of CVNE\u2019s Gold Member status within International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA)<\/strong>, the global organization driving the decarbonization of the wine sector. This recognition places CVNE among a select group of international wineries committed to achieving carbon neutrality before 2050, in line with the United Nations\u2019 Race to Zero<\/strong> initiative.<\/p>\n

In 2024, the group achieved a 13.5% reduction in relative CO\u2082 emissions<\/strong>, strengthened its commitment to 100% renewable and self-generated energy<\/strong>, and ensured that over 99% of all packaging materials used are recyclable<\/strong>.
\nAdditionally, Vi\u00f1edos del Contino<\/strong> became the first Spanish winery to obtain the ZERYA certification<\/strong>, which guarantees grapes free from pesticide residues\u2014an unprecedented achievement in Spanish viticulture.<\/p>\n

The company has also continued to promote projects that combine sustainability, architecture, and landscape<\/strong>, such as the new Logistics Center in Laguardia<\/strong>, designed according to energy efficiency and clean energy principles, and the new aging cellar at Virgen del Galir (Valdeorras)<\/strong>, recognized for its sustainable design using local materials.<\/p>\n

\u201cSustainability, excellence, and passion will continue to guide our story,<\/strong>\u201d says V\u00edctor Urrutia<\/strong>, CEO of CVNE, in his opening letter of the report. \u201cOur commitment to the environment and to people is an essential part of how we understand wine.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

With eight wineries located across Spain\u2019s most renowned wine regions \u2014Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Valdeorras, R\u00edas Baixas, and Pened\u00e8s\u2014 CVNE reaffirms its position as a benchmark in sustainable winemaking and responsible innovation.<\/strong><\/p>\n
