CVNE Secures Multiple Wines of the Year in Tim Atkin’s Rioja 2026 Report

25 Feb 2026

CVNE has achieved outstanding recognition in Tim Atkin MW’s Rioja 2026 Special Report, with several of its wines receiving top distinctions, including category awards such as Red Wine of the Year, White Wine of the Year and Sweet Wine of the Year. Alongside these honours, numerous wines across the group’s portfolio earned high scores, reinforcing CVNE’s position as one of the leading reference points for quality, longevity and stylistic diversity in Rioja.

Published annually, Tim Atkin MW’s Rioja Report is regarded as one of the most comprehensive independent assessments of the region, combining extensive tastings with analysis of trends, producers and vineyard developments. The 2026 edition once again places Rioja firmly among the world’s great fine wine regions, highlighting both its historic foundations and its capacity for continuous renewal. As Atkin notes, “Rioja belongs at the world’s top table and has done it for some time.”

Within this context, CVNE is cited repeatedly throughout the report, not only for individual wine scores but also as a benchmark for consistency and range. High ratings — including several wines scoring 95 and 96 points — span the group’s key brands, from Cune and Imperial to Monopole, Viña Real and Contino, illustrating the breadth of styles and origins that define the company’s work across Rioja. The report underscores that Rioja remains “Spain’s most famous and, at its best, greatest wine region.”

Beyond individual scores, the report underscores the depth and coherence of CVNE’s Rioja estates — from the historic foundations of CVNE Haro and Imperial to the singular vineyard expressions of Viña Real and the estate-driven identity of Viñedos del Contino. Together, they reflect a model rooted in long-term vineyard understanding and stylistic precision, capable of interpreting Rioja through complementary yet distinctive voices.

Taken together, the results mark another milestone for CVNE, confirming the strength of a collective effort that extends from vineyard to cellar and continues to shape the estate’s role in Rioja’s present — and future.
