Young wines are marketed the same year of the harvest or the following year. As a result, they do not spend any time in oak barrels. These wines are made from white and red grapes ready to be consumed in the months following the harvest. For this reason, they are often referred to as "vinos de año" (same-year wines or wines for early drinking). It is best not to wait too long before opening young wines as they are designed to be at their best in the following months and years after bottling.
