Contino Rosado

With Contino Rosado, we are striving for a rosé with ageing potential while moving away from the conventional style: the challenge is to create a great rosé with the soul of red wine.

The Contino rosé is produced by bleeding three grape varieties: Mazuelo (1 x 500 L), Graciano (2 x 500 L) and Garnacha (2 x 500 L). After a few hours in their respective wooden tubs, the grapes are bled into individual 500-litre barrels, where alcoholic fermentation takes place. After alcoholic fermentation, the varieties are blended before being aged together in barrels for nine months until bottling.

“Contino, the first "chateau" in Rioja, was first produced in 1973. Its wines are produced exclusively from the vineyards situated on its 62-hectare estate. The Contino vineyard surrounds an old manor house built on a meander of the Ebro River in Laserna, a small village in the municipality of Laguardia in the Rioja Alavesa region”
DESCUBRE MÁS Contino Garnacha “With Contino Garnacha, we are striving to create a single-varietal wine that embodies the essence of this variety, which has been neglected for some time. We aim to bring it back to the forefront while also showcasing the unique characteristics of the Finca San Rafael terroir, where the soils and mesoclimate make for a truly unique wine”
