This ranking reflects the growing interest in Spanish wines within the fine wine collecting world, and recognises Imperial Gran Reserva as one of the most prestigious and enduring references within the Rioja appellation.
Tradition and longevity
Produced only in vintages where the winemaking team believes that exceptional conditions come together, Imperial Gran Reserva stands as one of Rioja’s great historic wines. Its classic style, ageing potential and distinctive character have, over the decades, earned it the respect of professionals, enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Decanter’s report highlights the role of century-old wineries in shaping the image of Spanish wine as a source of enduring quality — at a time when resale and investment markets are beginning to show increased interest in labels such as Imperial.
