Vineyards at high altitude and ground cover

12 May 2022

Our Tempranillo vineyard in Cellorigo (in La Rioja Alta), is planted at an altitude of more than 700 meters, in order to obtain cooler temperatures.

In addition, the vineyard is planted on terraces to respect the natural shape of the landscape and make the most of the rainwater. Actions were made to channel the water, so that the terraces are not destroyed by the erosion of the water course.

Finally, we have opted for a vegetative vineyard ground cover as a sustainable alternative to the use of herbicides. Additionally, it protects against erosion, it is a natural fertilizer, and improves the quality of the soil and the vine, and thus the quality of the wine.
