Val do Galir Mencía is made from selected grapes from our plots in various parcels around the village of Entoma, including Valdemioto, Soutiño and O Follo. The region is dominated by steep, slate slopes.
The grapes were hand harvested into 15kg crates and then chilled in a refrigerated chamber before a further 48 hours cold maceration in the vat prior to fermentation.
The grapes were destemmed but not crushed in order to preserve the primary aromas and were fermented with indigenous yeasts.
Ten months in French and American oak barrels.

Maruxa Mencía
“Maruxa Mencía is our red village wine (vino de pueblo) from the village of Éntoma. The soils there tend to be clay. However, all soils in Val do Galir contain some slate. Our intention is to showcase an Atlantic red wine: fresh, light, and with a long finish”
