With Contino Rosado, we are striving for a rosé with ageing potential while moving away from the conventional style: the challenge is to create a great rosé with the soul of red wine.
The Contino rosé is produced by bleeding three grape varieties: Mazuelo (1 x 500 L), Graciano (2 x 500 L) and Garnacha (2 x 500 L). After a few hours in their respective wooden tubs, the grapes are bled into individual 500-litre barrels, where alcoholic fermentation takes place. After alcoholic fermentation, the varieties are blended before being aged together in barrels for nine months until bottling.

Contino Mazuelo
“Contino Don Vicente is the expression of one of our precious varieties at Finca San Rafael, Mazuelo. Through a meticulous viticulture, the vines offers us each year the freshness, acidity and complexity that characterize Contino wines. This time we have decided to capture those characteristics into a single variety wine; Mazuelo. Contino Mazuelo Don Vicente breaks with the schemes of a forgotten variety, although including a common factor that characterizes the wine, the seriousness of Contino”
